Connecting NMI

Maven connects to NMI (Network Merchants) using your security key via the Payment API (Direct Post). Charges and Customer Vault tokens are created directly on your gateway account.

Getting Your Credentials

Log into your NMI merchant portal (or your reseller’s white-labeled portal).
Go to Settings → Security Keys and create a key with API permissions.
NMI sandbox keys come from a sandbox gateway account; production keys from your live account.

Connecting in Maven

In the Maven Dashboard, open your app → Payments tab → NMI card:

Environment: Sandbox or Production
Security Key: your NMI security key
Gateway URL override (optional, production only): only if your NMI reseller uses a custom gateway domain. Leave blank for secure.nmi.com.

You can also click Copy link to send your customer a single-use hosted form to enter their own key.

Processor Response Fields

Field	Description
`nmi_transaction_id`	NMI transaction ID
`nmi_customer_vault_id`	Customer Vault ID (tokenize mode) — charge it later with `customer_vault_id` on your own NMI calls
`approval_code`	Authorization code
`response_code`	NMI response code (`100` = approved)
`response_message`	Response text
`avs_response` / `cvv_response`	AVS and CVV results

In tokenize mode, Maven stores the card in your NMI Customer Vault — subsequent charges are one Direct Post call with customer_vault_id, no card data needed.
